The question isn’t whether AI and automation are changing how cleared teams deliver — it’s which parts of the stack are shifting fastest, and whether your org is staffed for it. I’m seeing more searches where the ask isn’t just “find me a CISO with a poly” but “find someone who’s run DevSecOps at scale, understands zero-trust in a hybrid cloud, and can translate for the customer.” The technical bar and the relationship bar are both rising.
What’s easy to miss: the best passive candidates in this space aren’t chasing titles. They’re watching whether a program has the architecture, the tooling, and the mandate to actually move fast without breaking clearance or compliance. If you’re hiring for a role that sounds like 2019, you’ll surface 2019 talent. If the mission’s evolved, the search needs to reflect that.
