The question isn’t whether AI and automation are changing how we deliver mission systems — it’s whether your team has the talent to architect those changes instead of reacting to them. I’m seeing more searches for leaders who can stand up DevSecOps pipelines, integrate AI-enabled tools into accreditation workflows, and still speak the language of program managers who need to see delivery against milestones.
What makes these placements hard is that the market for cleared technologists who also understand mission context is thin. You need someone with a track record in both the tooling and the stakeholder management — someone who’s run point on an ATO in a containerized environment, not just read about it. Those people aren’t posting resumes, and they’re not easy to map.
If you’re building or rebuilding a delivery team right now, start the search early. The passive candidates worth presenting are already employed, often happily, and the time to surface the right fit is measured in weeks, not days.
