The question in that WashingtonExec headline is the right one, but the article itself didn’t load for me—just a security checkpoint. Still worth addressing, because I hear versions of it in every retained engagement we run for cleared program leaders and CISOs.
The technologies reshaping delivery teams aren’t the ones dominating conference agendas. They’re the ones that let a small team with TS/SCI clearances do what used to require three times the headcount: better orchestration tooling, smarter CI/CD pipelines in classified environments, and automation that doesn’t break accreditation. On the security side, it’s behavioral analytics and zero-trust architectures finally moving from pilot to production. None of this is exotic. It just works, and it changes the talent profile we map for.
If you’re hiring or being hired into a senior delivery or security role today, the real question isn’t what’s on the vendor roadmap—it’s whether the organization has the appetite to adopt tools that make cleared teams more effective without adding clearance delays. That’s the gap we see in most searches, and it’s where fit matters more than résumé length.
