The question isn’t whether AI and automation are changing how cleared teams deliver — it’s which organizations are mapping those changes early and which are still treating them as future-state. I’m watching passive candidates with track records in DevSecOps pipelines, zero-trust architectures, and AI-enabled threat detection get pulled into conversations they weren’t looking for, because the demand is outrunning supply in a meaningful way.
What makes these searches harder is that the technology moves faster than clearance processing. A senior leader who built containerized environments or stood up ML-driven SOCs two years ago is now table stakes for some roles and overqualified for others. Fit matters more than resume length, and I’m spending more time helping clients define what “modern delivery” actually means in their context before we map the market.
